Last Friday, February 7, 2014, people from all walks of life converged for the premiere of a thriller, Brother’s Keeper; a flick which dwells on issues ranging from love, romance, hate, jealousy, deceit, betrayal, passion to crime.
Produced by Okey Ezugwu and directed by a prolific Nigerian film maker, Ikechukwu Onyeka, the film was premiered at The Silverbird
Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos. From the stables of Oakfil Productions, the movie was shot in different locations in Nigeria.
Brother’s Keeper explores the lives of identical twins - Chidi and Chude (performed by Majid Michael). They are opposite of each other. One is loving, honest, prudent and innovative while the other is not.
The movie opens with a tough-looking guy cocking a gun, followed by a scene showing Mrs. Mena Nwakwo (Omoni Oboli) and her husband in their palatial home.
In summary, Chidi eliminates his twin brother; Chude not only takes over Chude’s wife, son, wealth, their father’s company but deceives everyone by living as if he is Chude.
From time to time, his caring mother, Mrs. Nwankwo (Barbara Soky) keeps wondering why he is behaving weirdly and not even mourning his twin brother.
As one is watching the movie, one will keep asking him or herself: “Is it possible for a mother not to recognize her twin children?”
A day of reckoning surfaces after eliminating Cassandra Okoro, his supposed late twin brother’s fiancée, his wife reveals to him that she is pregnant. One thing leads to another; he makes a revealing confession that shook the foundation of their marriage, family and lives.
One can easily predict the end of some movies after watching their beginning to their middle but Brother’s Keeper is full of intrigues and suspense. So it is difficult for anyone to predict its concluding part as it unravels different scenes and actions that keeps its viewers at the edge of their seats till end of the movie.
Its cast and crew did a thorough job and this movie stands to win both local and international awards due to its content, theme and beautiful performance by its cast and crew.
Both audio and visual quality was superb which proves that the producers of this flick know their onions.
