UNILAG 300L student electrocuted to death *Students protest on campus


A student of University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, identified as Oluchi Anekwe, was yesterday, electrocuted on her way to her room in Sodeinde Residence, New Hall on the campus.
Oluchi, a 300-level student of Accounting, who hails from Aku in Enugu state, was reportedly electrocuted when a high tension wire fell on her in front of the Sodeinde hall of residence in the campus.
She was immediately rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) but was pronounced dead on arrival.
In protest, the students of the university barricaded the main gate of the university to express their grievances over what they believe was an 'avoidable ''incident .The student union has also shut down the university for the day and halted all academic activities in her honour.
